Alpkit are selling their Vizsler jackets at a reduced price (£59) at the moment, and they seem to exactly fit my current requirements. I can't find any reviews so I wondered if any of you had any experience with them, or if there are better alternatives at a similar price.

Thanks, useful to know as I decided to take a punt and buy one in the absence of any further info. Other products of a similar spec seem to be a bit more expensive so it's worth a shot.

In reply to Bob Kemp:

Not as stretchy, but how about:

£28, with a double-edged zip which can be handy for climbing use.

Thanks - I've already ordered one of the Alpkit ones but that's an attractive product at that price. It maybe wouldn't have quite the wind resistance claimed for the Alpkit hoody, but still...

In reply to Bob Kemp:

Both rely on the knitted face for wind resistance. Neither of which will be membrane, or even pertex level of wind resistance.

The Simond hoody is a denser fleece than normal, and the knitted face does give some resistance. Hard to quantify the factor of wind resistance...
