Nipped up Cairngorm today, blue sky day -10 DegC and 35 mph winds.

It was well cold.....

My feet were really chilly all day, the boots are fairly new and a good fit, not proofed and standard footbeds. Heavy socks and lights socks on and good space....

Just wonder what anyone has done to warm theirs up.......

I was getting cold toes with mine, but what worked for me...

  • Replacement footbeds, the stock ones suck IMO
  • Keep my Harness leg loops a bit looser and try to limit how much I sit in the harness.
  • Allow more lace slack in and around the toe area of the boot.
  • My inbuilt gaiters were riding up and letting snow in.
  • Reproofed

if they still have adjustable tongues.. take them out and re apply them further back. This gives a bigger toe box. Not double socks. warm boots before going out.

I have the same problem and never found them to be that warmer boot.

I added some Merino superfeet insoles recently but not used them this year yet.

Were your lower legs chilly as well?  Perhaps the blood getting to them is getting cooled on its way from your core core to your feet.  May be you need more clothing on your legs to keep them a bit warmer?

35mph at -10 must be a fair amount of wind chill.

You say "a good fit", but could they be a wee bit on the small side?

I was having the same problem with mine, then I thought "maybe me feet have got bigger" (it happens), so I tried a bigger size and they're fine.
