Evening, knowledgeable folk of UKC.

Currently sitting in Sulden looking for options for the next couple of days as the Ortler north face seems to be bare glacial ice at the moment.

Saw some interesting cascades skiing around today and have read online of the Legerwand? Anyone have any experience/pointers/sources of info?

Couldn't find anything online except offers of courses - try dropping by the Bergführerbüro, I was there three times for info/winter hut key and they were always very helpful.

Bare ice on the face is also pretty much the norm in winter I think; we did it in those conditions. Again, the guides' office will give you good advice.

Cheers, guides office is apparently shut over the winter season though?!

That's surprising! This is also apparently a guides' office:

- I rang up but only got a message saying that they only take emails. I suppose you've tried the tourist information?

Otherwise there's the artificial ice climbing tower; maybe there'd be someone there with info? Good luck, and hope you're having the fantastic stable weather we've got in southern Germany!

Edit: some pics here; the belays are apparently bolted.
