I have been considering the Reactor stove for extended winter camping and melting snow (I have been using either white gas stove or a remote gas canister stove so far for winter trips, but the wind resistance of it is tempting), but I am a bit concerned over the overheat fail-safe protection (which basically makes it field irrepairable).
Any wise words on that from those more experienced with it? Does it ever happen with normal use? I have heard conflicting reports about it. Some using it for years, some failures.
Did anybody ever tinker with their stove to disable it? Warranty notwithstanding of course.
Thanks.
