The University of Warwick is one of the leading Universities in the country,consistently in the top 10 of UK league tables and rapidly climbing the international rankings of world-class universities, recently moving into the top 50 worldwide.

The University is currently investing in excess of £45 million in new sport facilities to include a Sport and Wellness Hub which is due to open in spring 2019. As part of this investment the University also has a vision of becoming “the most physically active campus community in the UK by 2020”. Consequently, Warwick Sport is now looking to appoint Climbing Wall Instructors to assist in the delivery of its climbing programme.

As a Senior Climbing Instructor you will work collaboratively within the climbing team to develop and deliver an excellent programme of Climbing in line with the University of Warwick’s vision and strategic aims.

This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver climbing in both our existing center and as we transition into the new Sports Hub which includes :-

706sqm of climbing surface, varying from 15m height to 7.975m at its lowest point, 5m overhang from vertical at 30 degrees and two types of wall texture – stone and wood panel based; offers almost three times more dedicated space and capacity than existing facility

48 top rope climbs and 144 climbing routes to suit a range of skill sets from elite to beginner

A number of auto-belays to ensure individuals can train at their own convenience (6 compared to two currently)

296sqm dedicated bouldering and training zone, enabling users to climb up to 5m without a rope to a maximum angle of 69 degrees

Dedicated climbing seminar room for clubs or group briefings or training
