I am a climber living in East London and climb mainly at the Castle. Currently looking for a new training facility, a decent gym, classes, group training etc. to improve my climbing. I used to go to my local cheap pay-monthly gym but would really like to train with other people that also have similar goals and also possibly with a trainer (group training rather than a personal trainer) that can help me get stronger for climbing-specific goals.

I was training a lot on my own or with a partner last year but would like to try something new. I understand that this is a bit of a vague request but trying to get some ideas, has anyone got any good (and not too expensive) London-based suggestions?

I can't comment on classes, but the arches bouldering wall has a very good training area

In East London you have decent access to:

Mile End: https://www.mileendwall.org.uk

StrongHold: https://www.thestrongholduk.com

Try Blocfit over in Brixton, it’s an out and out training gym and they also do a variety of group classes there. Dave, the chap who owns it, it’s a great guy.

Awesome, thanks Sam. Blocfit is a little far possibly but does look really good. I've since found another one near me called Barber's gym. Looks expensive but going to go and have a look as it's just up the road.

Yeah, they are all great climbing walls. Hoping to find some decent group training/strength classes to go workout with people as I need a different kind of motivation at the moment.
