Hello.

Am looking for some advice regarding Torre in the Sierra da Estrella, Portugal. Two of us will be travelling to Porto over Easter and plan on driving to the summit and spending a couple of days exploring the area.

Is overnight parking allowed on the summit carpark?

How relaxed is it regarding bivving in the National Park, either near the summit or lower down?

And any recommendations of short walks and easy peaks to bag nearby?

If anyone could answer some of these it would be much appreciated!

In reply to Botion:

Portugal is the most relaxed country we have visited outside Scandinavia when it comes to overnight parking and wild camping (though, having said that, there are also lots of very nice, cheap campsites too).

I think it is probably okay to park overnight at the Torre ski area parking. However there are some much nicer spots a short distance from the summit which would give you more of a wild camping feel. We had night up there in our van last Feb with sub zero temperatures but amazing views.

There are toilets at the ski area cafe.
