Hi In June I will be moving to Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire for a new job.

Is there any climbing around there? I've looked at UKC and it looks a bit quiet in terms of local crags and I wanted to know what the climbing scene is like.

How active are the local climbing clubs?

I don't know about clubs, but alas you couldn't have moved to a flatter part of the country, climbers nightmare!

No climbing around here I'm afraid, aside from traversing the odd railway bridge.

I climb with CCCC in Cambridge.  Reasonably active, with cars heading to the Peak most weekends for a day trip. There were about 18 of us in Cornwall over Easter and there are a few cars off to Font next weekend.  Email the climbing secretary through the website if you want more info.

You'll always get some chauvinistic replies but in reality you're not in a bad spot if you're prepared to drive (or use the train) to the Peak, fairly easily doable for day trips;  nothing local though.
