As a slight aside is the Convoy LWB under 3500kg? The minibuses mostly are 4500. An 18 year old won't be licenced to drive over 3500kg unless he's upgraded his licence.
What do they do? It may be cheaper to insure it under a contractor's policy (along with public liability cover etc) rather than a vehicle specific policy
Adrian Flux might be able to help, is he using it as a van or converting it? They've been good with me pre and post conversion, though admittedly I'm a decade or so older.
Might be easiest to go through a broker, that's what i did when i was 18 driving a transporter. Still clay me something around a grand for year 1 though, but how down quick after that.
