Last night a couple of the team came to our village and gave a presentation in the local pub, on the varied work they do in the area.

Enjoyable evening, well attended by locals and I think opened a few eyes as to what they do. So thanks to them for giving up their time and I think we raised a good sum for them to help out with their work. It could be any of us next who needs them next.

In reply to Moley:

The NP has 3 excellent MRTs, we are very fortunate.

In reply to blackmountainbiker:

Actually four teams: Brecon, Western (based in Bridgend), Longtown (based in Abergavenny) and Central (based in Merthyr). There's also South and Mid Wales Cave Rescue at Penwyllt in the Upper Swansea Valley, and SARDA providing search dogs across the whole region.

As well as providing help for walkers, climbers, mountain bikers, cavers, kayakers, paragliders etc. they also carry out searches for missing vulnerable people all over South Wales - hence the tag line of 'so much more than mountains'.

Moley- glad you enjoyed the talk, and thanks for raising money for Brecon team

In reply to Welsh Kate:

Thank you, didn't know about Western. Longtown are my local team so most familiar with them.
