Hi, I got a pair of la sportiva tx2 approach shoes in size 46 for my birthday, My question is after having tried them on how snug should the toe be at the front. If these were my running shoes I would need to  have more room up front, as it is my big toe is near the front. I guess for scrambling/climbing one might want the toe closer to the front? Size 46 would normally be the largest size in shoes/boots I ever need to try.

So I don't know if the fit is perfect or I should go up a size?

I think you absolutely need to go for comfort. Remember "approach" shoes are also "descent" and "walk out" shoes, when ones feet may be slightly swollen (at least in warmer climates). My personal taste is for them to feel like bedroom slippers when they are worn with a pair of socks. That's still 100% fine even for the more technical scrambling and easy climbing you may do in them.

Is it more of easy climbing/scrambling or more of walking you are going to do?

Thanks, it may be I need to go up a half size at least then.

The plan would be to use only when heading out climbing but I guess a walk in can be long enough.
