I’m thinking of heading to Mallorca sport climbing at Halloween instead of the usual spots on mainland Spain. It’ll be lower grade stuff that we’re after from 4+ to 6c. Where’s the best area to book accommodation and any suggestions for car hire companies(similar to Lara cars in Alicante)? Thanks.

I prefer the center of the island, because you get to see everything!

But if you want to minimize the driving, a bit west of Palma should be good.

Habitat appartments in Porto Pollenca have done us proud for a few years.

We've stayed in Soller a couple of times, nice town and not super touristy.  It's a pretty big island so you'll end up doing quite a bit of driving but Soller seems as well placed as anywhere.

We hired a car from one of the usual airport outlets, huuuge long wait to pick it up.  Apparently there's a local provider who will meet you at the airport, can't remember the name but if you search these forums it should come up.
