[Arc'teryx Lakeland Revival: Why do you love the Lake District?]

People tell us why they love the Lake District. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

The sixth Arc'teryx Lakeland Revival is in full swing. From the 4th May to 31st August participants are invited to climb the suggested routes put together by the Fell and Rock Climbing Club.

To get involved participants must collect a route card from one of the designated retailers (Needle Sports, George Fisher or the Sticklebarn) and climb one of the suggested routes, whilst ensuring they snap some evidence of the crag or selfie photo. Once completed they can then return to a retailer and exchange the route card for an Arc'teryx T-shirt or beanie, Nikwax products or Beta Climbing goodies.

In reply to UKC Videos:

The Lakes was the place where I first got into the mountains. First hillwalking with my Dad, then scrambling as a teenager, and eventually trad climbing as an adult. It's the place I associate with escaping from normal life to soak up the beauty of the landscape and experience the adventure of the mountains.

The best routes in the Lakes are as good as good as it gets: big - for England! multi-pitch mountain routes on perfect rock like Central Pillar on Esk Buttress and Saxon on Scafell are amongst the very best routes I've ever climbed. And the smaller quiet crags are beautiful too - some of the most beautiful, grippy rock around, set in a landscape that nourishes the soul. Yeah, it rains a lot, but if it's raining, go for a walk. Or if it's really bad, go to the pub.
