Hello
A heads-up about a major road closure planned for the Llanberis Pass at the end of September.
We've just learnt from Gwynedd Council Highways Dept that the upper part of the Llanberis Pass (from Pont y Gromlech to Pen y Pass car park, the A4086) will be closed, during weekday only for at least two weeks from Sept 26th. This is due to essential and major resurfacing works. The closures will be from 8am until 4.30pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, starting on Sept 26th. The road will be be open (but possibly traffic light controlled and with significant delays) during weekends and outside of these times. During the road closure times, Pen y Pass car park will be accessible but the only access to the Pen y Pass car park will be from the south (i.e. from Pen y Gwryd/Capel Curig and Nan Gwynant direction). We understand that the bus services from Llanberis to Pen y Pass will also be suspended during the mid week closures. Although the road to the Cromlech boulders will remain open, it's likely that the layby parking will be closed, including at weekends, to accommodate construction vehicles.
