Hi, I’m considering purchasing a Black Diamond Vapour helmet and have heard stories that it’s not very robust. Does anyone have any personal experience using this helmet and has it stood the test of time? Cheers

1st didn't last long as I dropped it and one of the lattice bits cracked.

2nd has lasted a couple of years so far, I'm relatively careful with it, but not overly so.

I really like them as they fit me much better than the Sirocco.

When you say dropped it, was it from a crag or standing height? I’ve been warned off buying one, however it fit my head really well.

Head height, got unlucky the way it landed I guess.

My current one, whilst it hasn't been properly dropped, has been blown along the base of crags by gusts of winds, been in my pack almost everyday (climbing instructor), I've banged my head in it plenty of times, been to various countries etc.

The lattice stuff has carbon rods in it and it has a layer of kevlar under the plastic shell so it is tougher than I at first appreciated.
