To accompany the alpine thread - any manual in particular recommended for big walling?

HOOKING UP (The Ultimate Big Wall and Aid Climbing Manual) by Fabio Elli, Peter Zabrok.

Not got a copy yet but supposed to be the one.

Well worth getting the Chris MacNamara book How to big wall climb (supertopo). Really recommended as breaks down walking into basic skills and focuses on keeping processes as simple as possible - generally the way forward. Accompanying YouTube demos also really good.

For the basics start with:

Basic foundation - How to big wall climb (supertopo) by Chris MacNamara.  You'll likely find the big wall experience very frustrating if this is all you know for your first big wall.

Develop efficiency - Hooking-Up by Fabio Elli, Peter Zabrok (It's a tomb with tons of pictures!)

Develop efficiency and technique troubleshooting - Higher Education by Andy Kirkpatrick

Depending on your rope and visualisation skills, you could just get Higher Education. If budget allows then also get Hooking-Up (postage is eye-watering).  Both books are da'bomb for big walling and developing very advanced skills.  Nothing else comes close.
