La Pedriza (Anterior)

Hi,

Looking at going to La Pedriza, just north of Madrid, for some trad crack climbing. Does anyone know the best guide to get for trad routes there? The ones I've seen are mainly focussed on sport climbing, like the 'La Pedriza Escalada' guidebook.

Also, for anyone who has been before, is there plenty of crack routes to go at in the shade? We are thinking of going over Easter and imagine it will be too warm that time of year to climb in the sun.

Thanks!

Didn't go there to crack climb but saw loads,  the place is huge,  never seen so much climbing ! We went in October and it was too warm in the sun for slab climbing, you could see the rubber folding under your foot !

George,

get in touch with Stu Bradbury. He has been just for wide cracks and I think knows the place quite well. Think he did some quite character building things when he was there last.

Thanks James, I will.

I was going to leave the wide gear at home for this trip and just see what stuff there is up to fists, but maybe I should pack the big stuff!
