Does anyone have any recommendations for a good resole service (actually, not resole, just gluing the existing sole and toe cap back on). Thanks

Have you tried your local cobbler?

Alternatively I'd try Cheshire Shoe Repairs for something like this.

As above, local cobbler (if you have one).

Also, Lancashire Sports Repairs (in Burnley, just along the road from the Turf Moor football ground) are good: https://lancashiresportsrepairs.co.uk/ (I have no connection with LSR other than as a satisfied customer).

Have you thought about just glueing them yourself?

You can buy flexible glue pretty cheaply, this is the stuff I have used (formerly called Freesole)

I have been amazed at how long some of the repairs I've made have lasted.

Cheshire Resoles did my old Trango S that had worn out, delaminated and had a hole in the rand. I thought they were beyond saving but they came back as good as new. I'd definitely use them again for my boots.

Another vote from me for https://lancashiresportsrepairs.co.uk/

They did an excellent job for me on a pair of Scarpa SL Activ. Quick turn around and very reasonable on the price.

Again no connection other than a happy customer.

Thanks for the replies. I found a traditional-style cobbler nearby, and went with that. I got the re-glued boot back, but haven't tested it in the hills yet .........
