Looking to buy an abseil rope for sea cliffs etc.

I own quite a few Beal ropes with their Unicore technology that bonds the core to the sheath for the extra safety margin.

The only static/semi-static Unicore ropes Beal do are the 10.3mm Pro Canyon and 8.5mm Spelenium.

The 8.5mm Spelenium seems a bit thin, so are there any reasons why the 10.3mm Pro Canyon wouldn't suit for a climbing abseil rope, as it is marketed towards canyoneering?

What's the best length for sea cliff abseil ropes in the UK? 60m?

Possibly even the best choice for UK sea cliff abs, as canyoning ropes float.

Don’t know about the canyoning rope, but as I caver I use the Beal 8.5mm rope all the time and it’s awesome.

Great for exped caving where every gram counts, but also surprisingly hard wearing. I have had some for nearly 10 years and still going strong. Used it for sea cliff abseils too, and it’s been fine.

Quite fast when new though, best to soak it once before use to get the coating off. (This is the same for most static tbh)

cheers
