I have seen in a couple of places that the new, much delayed, Climbers Club guide to the Culm Coast & Baggy Point is due out 1st March.

I could of course take the lazy option and get it from Amazon but wanting to support the publishers as much as I can, where is the best place to buy it ? Annoyingly it doesn't seem to be on the CC website ...

Judging by the reply I've just had on the CC Facebook page, 1st March is not a thing I'm afraid.....

We’re getting  there, honest. But 1st March is not going to happen!

lol. I guess the delay can only be due to the continuing discussion over which is scrattling crack and which is moonshot

Yep still ongoing. PM me and I can give you the latest on book, its not far off but you know those commas have to be right.

Its the constant collapsing of the crags causing the delays!

Two more chunks spotted on the beach yday which means another set of topos!!

The joys of the culm!

Thank goodness I did them both on the same day, otherwise I'd have to go back and sort it out (for myself) 😁

Not decrying Baggy, lovely place, just not very convenient for me to nip over to, especially at the moment.

I'd have thought seeking full comma stability would be pointless on the Culm.

... when its finally published it will be readily available from the CC webshop... it will also be available from the likes of Outside, V12, Needlesports, Joe Brown's The Climbers Shop, The Depot shops etc, etc... so yes, please support these guys rather than Amazon...

Absolutely!

Er, no! Cut off for that sort of thing has passed.

OP Snyggapa 19 Feb 2021
In reply to Richard Wheeldon:

yes, absolutely. My surprise was more seeing it advertised "for 1st march" in a few places and not on the CC website which was where I headed off to first.

Clearly someone or something jumped the gun, or was running off old info

... ah yes... the dreaded publication date... an affliction effecting those of us working on climbing guidebooks: "Guidebook Publication Date Optimism"... there is no cure...

It's like painting the Forth Bridge. You'll never get a guide out before another bit of it falls down.

Just hoping we can get it out before too much collapses!

OP Snyggapa 19 Feb 2021
In reply to Mark Kemball:

perhaps you could perforate the pages to allow easy tearing out as bits fall off

Which would have another useful benefit!!

edit: Probably glossy paper unfortunately!
