My condolences to the deceased's family & friends.

I'm trying to not speculate on the cause but the reports I've seen don't clarify whether this was a climbing related accident or whether it was a non climber who has tragically fallen from the top.

If it was a climbing related accident then I'm a bit mystified as to why there's no mention of the deceased's climbing partner since Castleberg is (IIRC) a sport climbing crag with a known reputation for looseness so I would have thought soloing is less likely (although roped soloing might of course be possible there).

Such a sad incident, and my thoughts are with the family of the deceased and those who offered immediate first aid (and CRO of course).

It was definitely a climbing related incident, rather than a walker. Local reports suggest that he may have been roped soloing but there is currently an investigation ongoing to determine the circumstances and the crag is closed for climbing whilst this takes place.
