Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this issue?

We're moving to Norway in the near future and are working out how to move all our stuff out. The best option in terms of packing and price is to just drive a van out ourselves, however I'm struggling to work out if this is possible with regards to customs.

There is a customs exemption in Norway for personal property when relocating and the form to fill in for Norwegian customs is pretty straightforward. However in order to drive to Norway we'd be entering the EEA in France and transiting at least 3 countries on the way.

I've waded through pages of legislation and manuals and it doesn't seem very clear whats allowable and whether the norwegian paperwork is enough to get us into france. The 'transit manual' seems to suggest there is a lower standard applied to people accompanying their own personal effects and not operating for profit or reward;  but wondering if anyone has tested this?
