Wordle with numbers: https://nerdlegame.com/

Equality for numbers at last! A great addition to the pantheon minus the letters; may divide opinion as requires multiple attempts.

Damned, I thought there'd been an accidental launch of the full stack or some cataclysmic exposition.

Turns out you didn't mean the Nerdle Cam!

Not quite so ‘intuitive’ as Wordle, given the number of variables.

But becoming more addicted as each day passes…..

Yes, I quite like that one. There's a thread on it already: https://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/off_belay/worldle-744180?v=1#x9593600

Wow! Just had a go. I got 3 of the 4 words but ran out of turns...just needed one more as well as my next guess for the last word would've been the right answer...argh!

Good one though!

Second row was simply a "well this fits all the clues from 1st row", but still super-smugness tonight 😁 - I'm sure I will be suitably knocked down by the next ones I try.

Good work! I was pleased yesterday with 4 goes, but today managed 2 today (which is almost certainly just luck!) ...

There was one with a number of words that would fit and I feared losing all my goes just trying to get that, but luckily picked the right one from about 5 possible I could think of!

Unfortunately struggled with Worldle (failed) and Wordle (5) today, but can't win them all!

Definitely the easiest, and with the greatest temptation, to cheat at.

In reply to Graeme G:

Yes! But as soon as I look on a map, I count that as a fail... that's what happened today. I got the country next door on my second guess but spent the next 3 guesses missing the target. The last one I gave up and looked at a map and had to roll my eyes and curse my poor geography! I'd never have got it.

You’re being a bit harsh on yourself. I don’t think I’d count not knowing the outline of a lesser known region/country as being “poor” geography

Wordle 3

Worldle 1

Nerdle - mini 2

Nerdle - full 3

Some thoughts...

Worldle - has a lot of you either know it or you don't so good possibilities of getting in 1. But there are lots of obscure S American and African countries which you are likely to totally fail on unless you're lucky or you know the continent.

Nerdle - not done enough to be sure but I'm getting the feeling that it's easier than Wordle to cut down the possibilities so that you can reliably get it in 3 or 4. But I may just have been lucky so far and not been aware of loads of other expressions that would fit the previous rows. Also, it's probably best avoided if you're not numerically inclined.

In reply to Michael Hood:

Seeing as you're doing so well today 😊, you should give Quordle a go: https://www.quordle.com/#/ for a full house!

Re Worldle, although some countries are obscure, I think the clues on wrong answers in terms of distance and direction from the right answer do mean you've got a good chance even if you don't recognize the country outline. In fact I think you can choose to play it without the country outline (not that I have). However, and with full apology to any citizens of today's country, I'd forgotten it was even a country so an endless amount of goes wouldn't have seen me succeed!

In reply to Graeme G:

Oh, I haven't really been playing it all as you are supposed to. Even with a map you can still have fun, deciding from the outline whether it has a coast, is in Central America, West Africa, the Balkans, the Caucasus or the 'stans, then flitting about to see if you were right.

I confess I didn't know the rules until today, and doing it by them does seem fun so I will do that from now on. Promise!

No thanks, that looks rather scary and I'm already getting sucked into too many variants.

Absolutely NFI 😂, don't think I'll be trying that one again.

However the Quordle's still going fine - couple of close scrapes to get in 9 - especially when 50/50s go the wrong way - but I've also had a couple of 6's.
