A blast from the past here -

Walking Wounded  - Home Sweet Hackney

I haven't lived in Hackney but I have lived a few miles away for about forty years and, unfortunately there is quite a bit in this, IMO, excellent song that resonates.

The Book of Invasions by The Horslips.  A favourite since first year university days or, put another way, for forty years.

The best thing they did by a country mile.  Ambitiously bonkers concept album but it does date from the 1970s.

A bit niche, but a few days ago I managed to find the old C4 cycling theme music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTYqzUE_9rY&list=PL9eKtTvv8UCTJFY977zTI...  Took me back to the classic 1989 Tour de France.

Sounds more like Planet Gong being tortured in some grim industrial facility.

The new Half Man Half Biscuit album, which is poignant, poetic, laugh out loud funny and the guy on bass is having a whale of a time.

As all HMHB it’s an acquired taste but well worth getting in to.

I've recently been introduced to A Formal Horse; great big sound for a four piece and the lass on vocals is awe inspiring at times.

I agree, and Hey What by Low was also one of my favourite albums from last year.

Right now I'm listening to the debut album from King Hannah: https://kinghannah.bandcamp.com/album/i-m-not-sorry-i-was-just-being-me

The soundtrack from 14 PEAKS: Nothing is Impossible

Watched Rogue One last night and it depressed the shit out of me.

Trying to get over Covid (my mum has it as well but as we're isolating separately all I could do is order her a pulse oximeter off Amazon whilst trying to sound upbeat).

And there's the global news...

Music does help!

Also a great album!  When I'm not working my way through Low's back catalogue, the new Delines album (https://thedelines.bandcamp.com/album/the-sea-drift-3) is getting a lot of airtime as well.

Will check out King Hannah

Same for me, although I only stumbled across them a few years ago.  I was amazed to discover they had released getting on for 20 albums.  Haven't found one I don't like yet

They are different beasts for sure. I think the Psychemagik mix is more in keeping with the original vibe. Also I first heard it when I was absolutely clattered so I'm very fond of it

In reply to TechnoJim:

It's certainly excellent, yes. The Deep Dish one is darker, which perhaps keeps closer to the lyrics. I think Stevie Nicks was involved with it too.

This Gigamesh one is great as well, perhaps even lighter than yours, less dreamy, much more four to the floor and without the dotted bass:
