I am lucky enough to own a really nice Berghaus goretex walking jacket - one of these lined shell things that you can add a zip in fleece into. I'm going to get a pair of overtrousers in case there is a downpour, but I wondered do folks go for extra 'crispy' waterproof top shell jackets to go over things like Gore-tex jackets which should already be water and wind proof.
