Trying to buy a replacement for mine but they are scarce. Any idea why?

Don't seem scarce in Europe, which is good as I'm going to be buying a new one soon. Also considering an Edelrid Ace as a change/alternative

I've seen them on sale in multiple locations in the last 1,5 years so I would say Petzl is planning a replacement but this is pure speculation.

That was my guess

I hope they do and then make the back gear loops a tiny bit bigger. I like everything about the Hirundos except for racking gear on the back while wearing winter gloves.

Possibly events of the last couple of years have contributed?

They don't look bigger but there will be a 5th "rear accessory loop"

New version should be in the shops in the next few weeks I reckon, they look good, had one many years ago before switching to black diamond

Keen to try the new one myself

I just hope the new hirundos has a tougher leg loop triangular bit, I'm on my second one now and it's  been same wear point on both. I agree that the loops do sit quite far back. It's  the lightweight  comfort that brings me back to it.

Do you mean the actual force bearing part?  The fancy bit of mesh on mine is a bit battered but the weight bearing parts aren't?

Number 3 for me. Great harness, very comfortable for me

Thanks. Looks like they do them in black now as well as orange and red

In reply to wbo2:

Not the important bit, just the webbing and the lower elastic triangle. It makes the leg loop fit slack.

Thanks for posting! Really looking forward to replacing my very tired looking Hirundos.
