Looking for advice on an EU sport climbing destination suggestions for 1st week of April

- low 6's through to low 7's, prefer o/s than redpoints

- options for sunny and shady climbing.

- a pretty spot and not just a hole in the ground... needing a holiday!

- minimum faff to get there

Was thinking Kalymnos but climbers coming from London and Manc, and trying to get flights to match up into/out of Kos is proving very tricky. Was thinking Chullila but will it be too hot on the sunny side? Leonidio - will it be too hot? Other suggestions welcome...

Thanks in advance! Luke

What about a really pretty but massive hole in the ground like the verdon?

loads of options in that neck of the woods if the verdon spanks you senseless on day1 like it usually does

St leger is nice. Has a shady and sunny bit.

Trieste/Osp area. Above a very big hole called Mediterranean.

South of France had a lot of options and if you’re coming from London it’s almost as easy to take the train as to fly. Buoux is great but mostly sunny.

Font isn’t sport climbing but fits your bill otherwise.

Finale is great but the grades can be tough.

Asturias is wonderful, great rock and very pretty.

Yeah the Grades in Finale are a joke, but I do love it there...

I found it kind of fun as after a day or two I stopped thinking about them and just concentrate on climbing stuff that looked and felt hard.

Always good for a laugh when you lower off some desperate crimp fest with smears on monos and the book tells you it was a 6a.

Just for a closer alternative, how about the Great Orme? Definitely prettier than a hole in the ground and can be great conditions that time of year

Indeed, the overnight train from Paris comes within 5km of where we are in Ariège. Usually a pretty good time of year for climbing too, and there's lots to go at within a very small area, much of it within walking distance.

Arco is a classic destination for Germans at Easter, but the 6s we climbed were pretty polished.
