Exped synmat - dark patches

Hi.

My Synmat has some dark patches. I assume these arose from inflation by mouth and resulting moisture. I now have a 'stuff sack' inflation device.

Do these cause any issues (aside from aesthetic!) and can they be removed, if they do?
