I believe there is bouldering at Yesnaby but I’m not sure exactly where, as I’m not a boulderer.
Be wary of the sea on the west coast at the moment. There can be big swells when there’s a westerly. Was out that way running this morning and there were chunks of foam being blown up over the clifftop in the area around North Gaulton Castle.
Head towards Birsay on the main road from the south. Just after the Birsay Outdoor Centre and campsite, turn left down a small road. This road takes a sharp left bend, find somewhere to park sensibly here and take the rough track towards the sea. Scramble down to the rocky pools. I’ve never bouldered here so can’t tell you where Ice Buns cool looking picture was taken exactly. It’s a great swim and snorkel spot but maybe not with big seas running
In reply to Sealwife: The bouldering I’ve done at the Pools of Birsay is on a south west ? facing wall in an inlet on the Rocky headland just sw of the pools. You get a reasonable idea of location/ what you are looking for from this shot https://www.flickr.com/photos/8027420@N04/9386332064/in/photostream/ with the pools themselves being out of shot to the right.
