A couple of thoughts re Longridge.
If the BMC get into the stage of negotiating with the landowner it would be beneicial to 'ignore' the overhanging area.
After all, a builder could not put a house on that land and the potential future landowner could not put a garden pergola there.
Consequently it's use appears very limited. You couldn't even demolish the overhanging rock due to the road above.
The area of land that atracts us as climbers appears to have little benefit to a landowner.
The value of the land should surely represent that.
