This week's Friday Night Video is a veritable feast of Sea Stacks that would be the ultimate playground for any climber. Join Charlotte Durif and Josh Larson on the world travels (pre-COVID) as they head to Tasmania. The pair tick off an iconic route on the Totem Pole, climb on the secluded Moai, the steep and intimidating Mount Brown, and the columns of Cape Raoul on their whistle-stop tour of the island.

Different areas, different ethics.

Having climbed several of the routes within the film, most would be drastically different propositions without bolts (i.e. insanely bold and/or completely unprotected) and even with the bolts still feel wild due to their position.

Don't get me wrong, in the UK I'm all about keeping trad climbs traditional and sport climbs sporty, but out in Australia/Tasmania things are different - hybrids are much more common, as are bolted lower-offs/abseil stations. As such, it's best just to get into the holiday vibe...or go somewhere else...
