One of the best climbing films I've watched in ages.  Ondra & Moffatt is a real winning combo.  So nice to see how super-psyched Jerry is for Adam's success.  Also loving the cuts into The Real Thing... "10 minutes to the Tor, no 5 minutes...!"

This was great. Brought back memories of watching The Real Thing in a dingy cellar trying not to over train

In reply to UKC News:

So good! Loved the energy in this.

Agree, the real thing throwbacks were great. But… I can’t help but feel it would have been even better still with the appropriate soundtrack!

Marmion's Schoenberg remix definitely missed!

Great watch though. Ondra flashing the Ace was something else.

Even Jerry was genuinely impressed!  In fact, there's even a hint of a tear in his eye.

Ondra does look disturbingly like a praying mantis in the screenshot used in the link though.

A bit disturbed by Jerry flipping a fried egg...who does that?! Great film.

Agreed. Was so, so ready to hear it in the intro :'(

In American Diner parlance it’s known as 'easy over', as opposed to 'sunny side up'… just a way of cooking the yolk differently.

From my memory, most diner breakfast cooks flipped the egg with a skinny spatula on the griddle, so kudos to Jerry for managing it without!

Pete.

Yeah I know, it still upsets me though!

I must be getting old, I enjoyed the interior design of Ben's house.

It also feels a bit like an AI attempt at a climbing video where it mashes together all the disparate elements it thinks you'll like to make a single supervideo (Ondra, Ben & Jerry, hard grit, school room, Broomgrove Road wall, Real Thing clips... ). That's no criticism - I think it worked brilliantly and I bloody loved it.

Yeah I do that. Men of a certain age and all that.

What it didn't show was the number of times that the egg ended up on the floor, etc.
No wonder that there's an egg shortage... 🐔🥚

I realised that I'd never actually watched the original - so with Youtube being my friend I did - although I was a bit time constrained so watched the non-climbing bits at x1.5 or x1,75 - makes the music even more frenetic.

What a great film the original is, so full of youth and energy and that life is there to be enjoyed.

Really enjoyed this - best climbing film I’ve seen for a long time. Feeling psyched for the first time in a while, and quite homesick!
