The video was a bit grim wasn't it. Same old "spiritual" American bullshit ruining an otherwise incredible story. I think "mini documentary " is pushing it a bit!

I tweeted to Beth Rodden saying the article was great and encouraging her to write her autobiography and she replied

"Thank you! Trying to make that happen "

Something to look forward to.

The article is brilliant. Some very interesting links (I never knew there were so many ways for girls to pee outdors, perhaps I should try some new ways). But overall an amazing story about change and opening up and letting go, and the transformation that a child can bring.

Yes, I was fully expecting to labour through a few paras of pseudo-emotional waffle before getting bored, when to my delight I found myself captivated and unable to pause until I reached the end. Great stuff.

Outside is infuriating - 90% absolute rubbish of every variety, then occasionally they publish something excellent and genuinely worthwhile like this.

One of the best, and certainly most honest, articles on a climbing life I've ever read. Puts most climbing media to shame.
