Great, now I'm not going to get any work done until Monday...
This kind of stuff makes me feel pretty dumb. Got one.
This quaking hound sounds like he has a different tail.
>Tremadog
Leave famous country singer.
>Gogarth (go garth brooks)
A love affair cut short with a cooling device.
>Tryfan (tryst cut short by fan)
The fashion consultant misheard where the baby sleeps.
>Crib Goch (gok wang)
Festively crowned before the large hill.
>Holyhead mountain
Down under.
Prey for Black Beauty's footwear.
>Horseshoe Quarry (quarry is a synonym of prey with much hindsight, horseshoe the giveaway)
Up above, decaying backwards.
>Windgather ?
Oliver's pal is getting on, before a verge.
???
Brightly next to forest's greatest.
>Robin Hood's stride ? (Don't follow the brightly-stride part if this is right)
A joint's end, queuing in the clouds.
>Hen cloud ? Dovedale?
Untamed moggy.
>Wild cat
Rocky, the centre of a weight.
>Stoney middleton
An amphibian packing heat?
>Froggatt (frog + gat)
> A joint's end, queuing in the clouds.
> >Hen cloud ? Dovedale?
Roaches Skyline
> Oliver's pal is getting on, before a verge.
Stanage Edge
> Brightly next to forest's greatest.
Shining Clough
Karl, is that you? Gives a whole new meaning to Rockbusters!
got em all i think unsure about 2 SW+ 1 rest, that was fun ta.
better not to post answers but extra hints I think
Well done on Shining Clough. I thought that was the meanest one, because most climbers don't know anything about football, and the "forest" part makes people think of Robin Hood...
I'm not sure about the tremadog one.
I got that qucking hound = mad dog, but I don't see how the rest of the clue gives you 'tre'.
I think the queueing in the clouds is 'Skyline Buttress' (as opposed to roaches skyline suggested by another as "end of joint" = buttress.
Struggling with most of the south & west ones too (got Lulworth, but that's it) and 4 of the first 5 rest of the country ones (the cheese one is obvious).
I got Dewerstone for the 'moisture on the morning grass, instead of romancing' (dew / romancing the stone) but it doesn't feel quite right as the clue doesn't explain the 'er' in the middle.
Also a little confused by 'A poacher jumps' which I assume is Huntsman's Leap, but I'd have thought this would be in the south and west coasts as opposed to the rest of the country.
German child's demise.
Is it in yet?
though search me why it isn't under the Peak section.

Tremor Dog
The end of a joint (The bit you breath in through) is a Roach, so I'm pretty sure it is Roaches Skyline
Could "Giving assistance to bluff" be Crookrise?
where do small german kids go to school ?
not what i thought though i have a ? by my answer, as it's not quite right,
but I've just rethought it and its a place I've never heard of but guessed.
Think Yosemite
Tremor Doc ( a doc'd tail)
> where do small german kids go to school ?
Er - a school? or Schule? Pretty sure my own (mildly) cryptic answer makes sense.
Ah, totally wasn't thinking of that kind of joint...
it does so you should know where Arnie was a cop!
A very good point.
Could 'Go Down, Pointy Rhino' be Lower Sharpnose? Kinda fits but I'm not 100% convinced,
Yes, I get it!
Go on ...
dangle and whack climbing , at an outcrop up north
Part of a shopping centre, plus part of a pig, but this harbour isn't by the sea.
Mal(l)ham Cove
A false sense of security can be combined with value.
Lul(l)worth?
A bit tenuous perhaps?
After dinner wine goes into the ground, and that's how much it will cost.
Portland Bill?
That's what I thought, but it's an area rather than a crag really.
Solo has his very own stones - Harrisons Rocks
The crow's wound healed. - Raven's Scar
And a couple I'm dubious about:
The black ones are unexpected events and we all have one. - Daddyhole (as in black hole and we all have a daddy)
Is that a swimming tortoise's entry point? - Durdle Door (on the grounds that Durdle sounds a bit like turtle)
> And a couple I'm dubious about:
> The black ones are unexpected events and we all have one. - Daddyhole (as in black hole and we all have a daddy)
I went with Swan Age with a ? and don't know about 'events'
> Is that a swimming tortoise's entry point? - Durdle Door (on the grounds that Durdle sounds a bit like turtle)
thats what i have with a ? by it, and it's almost lulworth (which has to be right)
> Well done on Shining Clough. I thought that was the meanest one
I got it quickly without even getting the football reference (due to no capital f on forest), assuming a clough was some sort of woodland feature (actually now I think it might be a moorland feature)
maybe it is mean because most climbers don’t climb at Shining Clough
Kinder Downfall
> German child's demise.
> Is it in yet?
> though search me why it isn't under the Peak section.
Kinder Downfall, must be!
Go down, pointy rhino!
Lower Sharpnose.> > The fashion consultant misheard where the baby sleeps.
> >Crib Goch (gok wang)>
Ah right. I thought maybe there was some fashion consultant called 'Dinas' (Mot, with the 'M' coming from 'misheard')
> > Leave famous country singer.
> >Gogarth (go garth brooks)>
The 'famous' is perhaps stretching it a bit?
Black swans are unexpected events:
thanks
spoilers: here's my answer set whilst we wait - changed 2 on there due to answers above
