NEWS: Hazel Findlay Climbs 5.13 (E7/8) Crack in Squamish

Hazel going for the crimp on John Wayne, 5 kbBritish climber Hazel Findlay has bagged another hard trad route with her ascent of 69 (5.13b/c F8a/+) on the Leviticus crag in the Murrin Park area of Squamish, British Columbia, Canada.

The 30m route is protected by small cams and wires and has two distinct crux sections which would rate V7 and V6 as stand alone boulder problems...

It is abit depressing to me that between this and the other post (http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=425507) there have only been 18/19 comments, but yet a thread that was something to do with being scared of a spider (gave up reading at that point) gets over 100.

In reply to UKC News: She is awesome. Watched her the other day on some video climbing with Johnny Dawes and decided she is one of the best female climbers i've ever seen climb.

she is my hero. She doent seem big headed in the slightest, and she doesn't seem to be shouting from the roof tops about her achievments. Very endearing!
