This week's Friday Night Video follows Bronwyn Hodgins, Jacob Cook, Thor Stewart and Zack Goldberg-Poch on an expedition to Baffin Island. The team's aim was to put up first ascents on the big walls of the Norse: Asgard and Thor.
Having climbed in Canada and the US I can confirm that the whoops are authentic - over there climbers actually communicate like this and seem to be genuinely enjoying themselves in a most unbecoming way.
Yep, me too. I've done a fair bit of biking, kayaking and climbing there too. And I have been known to indulge in frequent whoops at key moments. Nothing wrong with that.
As per my post, it's the forced repeated fake ones at various points in the video that grate. I realise of course that they're probably doing Take 3 or whatever for some of those snippets, but IMHO they'd be much better relying on the utterly obvious awesomeness of the film and what they have done to get the message across.
