Simon Jacques reports on the forums that the Heeley Bank Community Centre home to the School Room boards has been saved after protests by community groups including climbers who started a petition and even abseiled down the building in protest.

In reply to seagull: Yeah, unfortunately I don't think its quite as simple and sorted as we'd like it to be...but at least it isn't closing instantly.

At least another year isn't it? The fact that they are prepared to sit down and discuss it is a positive in itself I reckon. And surprising given the usual outcome of situations like this.

Well done to the campaigners I say - it does work to protest in Sheffield it seems. Fingers X'd that there can be a resolution after negotiations.
