say what you want about the poor kid, he's got a lot more spunk than people give him credit for.

I'm sorry but the modeling shots are a bit over the top, and what's up with the Scarpa sticker in her biceps?! Sorry just makes me laugh, regardless how strong she is.

at 1min40seconds there is a windows "bing" noise can't beleive i noticed that, but it messes up an otherwise very nicely made video.

Good effort, but all that swaying camera work made me want to puke. Keep it steady to reduce motion sickness please!

Probably is ... I have a russian colleague called Semenchenko. As yet haven't summoned up the courage to ask her where the name, er, comes from.

 Jack Geldard 17 Dec 2009
In reply to tobyfk: A brief explanation of the name from Anna Piunova:

It originates from the Biblical name Šim'on, so the English analogue is Simeon, but in Russian he's Semen.

Thanks Anna.

But apart from that what a great climber, I enjoyed the video. And I also liked the modelling photos, it's nice to see something different in climbing.

Did anyone see those Blurr adverts - Mick used some of them in his seminal <sorry couldn't resist> article series Climb Like A Girl:

Great climber, great effort, but what a terrible video!

In reply to AndyM-LVB:

I'm surprised that F8a+ is considered newsworthy these days - especially since there isn't any parochial interest attached. It is, after all 5 grades below the best womens grade. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will explain - but I'm guessing its got more to do with marketing than to do with climbing news.

It's not in the news section, it's just a video they thought people might like to see.

You're right, it is. I'd read "New Article" for "News Article"
