I do a little bit of route setting at a local wall and currently use a ratchet device to tighten and loosen bolts.  Can anybody recommend a drill/tool that would be light enough to carry easily but take some of the hard work out of the job, nothing too pricy as this is on a voluntary basis? Cheers.

Most route setters use impact drivers.  A quick google says that Aldi have a special on impact drivers at the moment if your budget is very limited. For a bit more (£100ish) you can pick up a basic driver.

After that Makita, DeWalt, bosch and Milwaukee are all decent. If I was choosing a new one if probably buy the Makita oil driven one because it's a bit quieter.

Thanks Alex,  a quick trip to Aldi and I have one which I think will be fine for the use it will get from me.
