Just read this piece in the papers, does anyone know anymore about it?

To build Europes largest climbing wall

Supposedly they want to build a climbing facility as part of adventure Park next to blue water shopping centre in Dartford, after they've built the zipline

Could be all spiel though and they haven't got the funding and it's always will be 'proposed plans' but I'm interested to see if anyone working in the industry has been approached by this project?w

The detail in the article says Europe's largest outdoor climbing wall.

Intrigued, but having experienced how cold it can get on my garden climbing wall this winter I am not sure how well this can work compared to indoor places?

Depends on what is meant by largest. Height alone or height * width.

Looking at that article and video its using the cliffs so up to 50m plus however wide it is.

Plus a traverse section over the lake.

The quarry walls are chalk I think - which means they'll have to be covered with something hard and durable and having holds. Iy could be a fixed hold wall or a wall with bolt-on holds.

Sounds like they could be getting via ferrata and climbing wall mixed up perhaps? There is no way they would bolt holds to those chalk cliffs! Ratho has no indoor rock routes, its all on artificial walls, im assuming due to risk / insurance bla bla and it's half decent rock !
