Has anyone tried taking a fingerboard into a normal gym? I have a Puregym membership and I was thinking of bringing in some rock rings to work out on. I can't see anything on their website to say that would be prohibited...

Haha, good shout. Hopefully I won't be banned!

I'm also a member of Puregym and always take my rock rings. I string them up on the monkey bars or the pull-up bars on the cable machines. Absolutely no hassle. I also use a portable hangboard there. The occasional "what's that?" from staff and punters is the only interest that's ever been displayed.

I've hung improvised fingerboards on lat pull-down machines before now. Staff are quite likely to take a dim view of it if they catch you.

(I've also accidentally used somebody else's personal dumbells in the weights room in Moss Side Leisure Centre. That was scarier)
