/ New Sheffield Depot bouldering wall?
Any new news on this??
Was chatting to someone the other day and it's still all hush hush.
I'm not sure I've heard quite the same story or location twice yet.
Excellent viral marketing if you ask me, still looking forward to it though.
I was chatting to Steve the other day and not a hint of secrecy. It’s not my role to say exactly which building, but it is at the city centre end of the Parkway behind SY Police HQ. Lots of work to do on it as they plan the facility to be both state of the art and in it for the long term. Will be another great indoor addition to the ‘outdoor city’.
That's great news!
When are we looking? I guess the early 2018 that's been bounced around is a bit optimistic
not sure which building that would be? The only one I can think of that's suitable would be that (I think it's called) Megacentre which does kids adventure activities. It's a pretty big building. Am I close?
There are lots of other industrial buildings the opposite side of the police HQ from there too. Off Woodburn Rd, Parkway Ave, Manor Way etc.
They'd need planning permission for the change of use though wouldn't they? There's still no sign of a planning application on the council website as far as I can tell. (I'm not sure it's working properly for me though, I can't seem to get the 'map search' to work at all.)
We think it is on Woodbourn Rd, the triangular building between the Parkway and the Supertram tracks. It is on the market, is approx the right size and needs a new roof
