Does anyone have any experience of redrilling and mounting T-Nuts in these old style resin climbing walls?

The wall at my university has a bouldering room made of this material; it's a fiberglass backing with a resin sprayed onto the panels around natural rock features. They have a few bolts on each panel already but we have been told recently that it would be possible to sand down a flat area, drill through and mount new T-nuts to increase the amount of routes we can set.

Anyone ever done anything similar to this that could offer some first hand experience? Am worried that the material will be so hard that it could shatter around the hole or simply not work.

When drilling through acrylic or plastic resin use a stone drill bit, preferably not too sharp.

You can do it yes. Drill in from the front so any break out happens on the back then use slab based T-nuts that are screwed into the back of the panel with tiny screws. Job done
