Does anyone know how wall manufactures get the high quality textured finish? is it just a layer of polyester resin then sand then painted with an epoxy paint? just thinking of spicing up my home wall.

There are special paints. From what I've heard you usually have to lay the plywood sheets flat to paint them - so you'd have to take your wall apart to do it. However I think there is a product out now where that is not necessary - though more expensive I'd imagine.
