Hey guys,

Does anyone have any recommendations for specific warm-ups before beginning a climb?

I've finally gotten round to fleshing out a training plan for the winter.

Let me know any books or articles you use yourself.

This seems to work well for this lass, not too bad a climber, I suppose... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/get-inspired/46843131

Basically something to get the pulse raised and body temperature up, then dynamic stretching and joint mobilisation then some easy slow climbing, gradually getting harder.

The possibilities are endless.

Just climb

I, and I say this as a proper punter 6b climber, never bother I climb a climb I like the look of. Sunday was a 6b which I've failed on before and then a 6a+.

My mate warms up on 4 and 5s and is a better climber than me, so maybe he's got more of an idea, I don't get much out of climbing under 5b so I don't tend to bother.

I've only ever had tennis elbow, as an injury, but not sure whether that was work or climbing related.

Haha, that was what Ron Fawcett used to say

'If you want to get better at climbing, go climbing!'

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Dave Mcleod's blogs looks good.

The "Bill Turner Warm Up" , arrive at arctic Guiseley Wall blow on fingers, rub hands together and ask "Right what's the hardest problem then?"

Nice to be in such esteemed company

It's not because I'm showing off, sometimes I need to do the harder stuff first because I'm too weak later on, maybe some training might help that
