The chap had a personal locator beacon and has more than proved their worth. Awful conditions for the teams, well done to all involved. A happy ending to this

at the time the teams involved couldn’t move for the weather, as you say, i was wishing for a window (and got one)

Ah, I couldn't work out why you were asking for a weather window for a rescue that was already over. Makes sense now.
