Looking for a route with a short(ish) walk-in for tomorrow that will be in condition, and not at risk of avalanche.

We've tackled Curved Ridge yesterday, Dorsal Ridge today. Grade III ice/mixed would be ideal, as we've had our share of snow gullies this past week.

Sorry I haven't got any suggestions as I am wondering the same thing. How was the conditions on Dorsal today?

Was looking down on Eilde Canyon yesterday (admittedly from a distance) and couldn't see any ice, only snow! Generally speaking there doesn't seem to be a lot of ice around - too dry.

Boomerang Arete? Inglis Clark Ridge? How was Curved Ridge?

In reply to neon_blue: Dorsal was in good nick. Well, a fair bit of powder to trudge through to get there, and high winds and spindrift gusting along the ridge, but otherwise great! A few other teams on it today. We decided not to go down Broad Gully as it was full of windslab.

Curved Ridge was great. Exit slopes OK the other day, would be wary of them building up. We scrambled through powder up to the summit and walked back down around the edge of Coire Tulaich.
In reply to thomb: Nice bit of ice in Great Gully on the Buachaille. We followed it up today before traversing onto North buttress. Im not sure how far you could go up but it was nice and sheltered in there, short walk in and a nice pitch of grade 3 ice with variations possible.
