Anyone been up Taxus lately was planning a climb this weekend wondered what exit slopes are like in these easterlies?

I'd imagine that the route faces roughly northwest. What does the avalanche forecast tell you about gullies and exit slopes on that aspect?

Hi. Keep in mind west gully and the exit slope are a different aspect from the gully as well. Someone in my club soloed it on Saturday and said slab was readily forming, and one released on him at the arête before you swing right onto the exit pitches.

Why not do a buttress route? They tend to be safer choices in heavy snow conditions.

I climbed it on Sat and released a slab at the same point...
Glad to get out of there in the changing weather!

It must have been your mate we saw on the approach, didn't realise he was soloing. He got out in time!!
