Who We Are

Based in Kaunas Lithuania since 1928, our organisation has been developing high tech textiles for industry and base layers - predominantly using the finest grade Merino yarns - for a variety of activities including deep-sea dives and even space missions.

During the last 15 years, we have applied this experience, the hard won knowledge and exceptional craftsmanship to outdoor apparel and created Thermowave.

By taking the finest natural Merino and man-made fibres, often in unique innovative combinations, Thermowave has created a series of extraordinary textiles that offer superb performance and comfort for outdoor enthusiasts.

Merino Xtreme

Directly descended from textiles developed for space and dive programmes, Thermowave Xtreme garments combine in a dual layer system the finest wool that mother nature can provide, together with the highest quality synthetic yarns.

Merino wool has supreme insulating qualities and is naturally anti-bacterial. The combination with soft, wicking polyester makes Xtreme garments very warm yet remarkably breathable – as such they are suitable for intense activity in cold to very cold conditions.

Our Commitment

Thermowave is proud to manufacture 100% of its production in Europe. An R+D mindset, and integrated design to production to end user approach aims to produce the finest outdoor garments.

To guarantee sustainable and responsible production, we build our manufacturing cycle on long term contracts with experienced and trustworthy wool growers. Such time tested partnerships make it easier for our growers to manage their flocks and plan their income, while ensuring us a stable source of quality wool at a fair price.

As partners in our commitment to environmentally conscious production, our growers manage their farms according to strict environmental standards and place animal welfare at the centre of their activity.
