Rab Cirrus Flex Jacket
This lightweight synthetic duvet is a versatile insulating layer that's well suited to the UK's damp climate, says Charlie Low
Cold, wet and scared is no way to go through life - unless you're an alpinist, and then at least you have the DAS. Our bombproof belay parka, with its high-loft PrimaLoft® One insulation (170-g), stays warm even when wet, sheds snow, and blocks wind.
The light-yet-tough 100% recycled polyester quad-ripstop shell fabric is treated with a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish, and reinforced at the shoulders, elbows and hips. An adjustable hood fits over helmets, and the high front insulates your face. Finer points: insulated handwarmer pockets, chest pocket, inside mesh pockets for drying gloves and a 2-way front zip (backed by a wind flap) that lets you see your belay device.
Perfect and recommended for winter climbing in Scotland or the Lakes.
